ChurchSuite and Expanse CMS: Better Together

If your parish uses ChurchSuite, you already know how much easier it makes managing rotas, events, contact records, and giving. What you might not know is that the information living in ChurchSuite doesn’t have to stay trapped there — it can flow directly into your parish website, keeping things current without anyone having to update two systems at once.
This is one of the things Expanse CMS does well. Here’s how it works, and why it matters.
The double-entry problem
Most parishes maintain two separate systems: their website and their parish management software. When a new event is created in ChurchSuite, someone has to remember to also add it to the website. When sign-up forms open for a parish retreat or a sacramental programme, a link needs to go up on the website. When the rota changes, the website needs updating.
In practice, this rarely happens cleanly. The website becomes the version that falls behind — because ChurchSuite is where the immediate work happens, and the website is an afterthought. Parishioners arrive at the website and find outdated information, or they miss events entirely because the website didn’t catch up in time.
The answer isn’t to try harder. It’s to stop doing the same work twice.
What ChurchSuite integration looks like in Expanse CMS
Expanse CMS integrates directly with ChurchSuite’s public API. In practical terms, this means:
Events appear automatically. When you publish an event in ChurchSuite and mark it as public, it can appear on your parish website’s events page without anyone manually copying it across. The date, time, description, and location all pull through. The website stays current because ChurchSuite is current.
Sign-up links surface in the right place. If an event in ChurchSuite has an associated sign-up form, that link can appear alongside the event on your website. Parishioners can go from finding out about the event to registering for it in a single step, without leaving your site.
Address list embeds for community directories. Some parishes use ChurchSuite to power a public or semi-public directory of groups and ministries. Expanse CMS can pull this information through and display it cleanly on your site, again without manual duplication.
Why this matters more than it might seem
The benefit isn’t just time saved, though that’s real. It’s that the information on your website becomes trustworthy.
When parishioners know that your website reflects what’s actually happening — that the events listed are the events going ahead, that the sign-up links work, that the Mass times are current — they use it. When they can’t be sure, they stop checking and start ringing the parish office instead. A website that people trust reduces the burden on whoever answers the phone. A website that people don’t trust becomes another thing to apologise for.

Do you need to be a tech expert to set this up?
No. The integration is configured once, during the build of your site. After that, it runs in the background. Your parish administrator doesn’t need to know it’s there — they just need to keep doing what they’re already doing in ChurchSuite.
If you later want to adjust which events appear on the website, or how they’re displayed, those are simple settings in the Expanse admin area. No code, no developer call-out required.
